VC LIVE | 2021 Taipei Music Academy & Festival — Live from San Francisco [WATCH NOW]

Tune in this Wednesday, August 4, at 10:30 PM (ET) LIVE here on The Violin Channel to watch a Taipei Music Festival and Academy all-star concert

 

The annual festival is usually hosted at the National Taipei University of the Arts, in Taiwan, inviting musicians between the ages of 15 to 30 years old to participate in concerts, coaching, lessons, orchestral training, masterclasses, and more.

Due to COVID-19, this year's season of TMAF will take place at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Discussing this change, Artistic Director Cho-Liang Lin said "Life has a certain ebb and flow. As concert hall lights dim in Taiwan, the curtains in America are starting to raise."

This year's season includes two LIVE performances, both direct from San Francisco's Caroline H. Hume Concert Hall, will be streaming LIVE here on The Violin Channel and on Taiwanese TV.

"Luckily, I got connected with the San Francisco Conservatory of Music," Lin said. "After a conversation with their visionary and energetic president, David Stull, I felt this might just be possible. Our collaboration evolved and progressed quickly. We had to act fast."

"I am grateful to the San Francisco Conservatory for their invaluable help. I am moved by the generosity of our great sponsors in Taiwan and many supporters in the USA. Despite this detour, they have remained steadfast in their support of this festival," he said.

"TMAF wishes Taiwan a speedy tamping down of the infections. I look forward to TMAF returning to Taipei in 2022. This summer, however, come and watch us in gorgeous San Francisco or online on The Violin Channel. I know all the musicians will play with their hearts and with great beauty."
