The University of Delaware School of Music, in Newark, Delaware presents the VC Artist Calidore String Quartet with pianist Henry Kramer.
Comprising violinists Jeffrey Myers and Ryan Meehan, cellist Estelle Choi, and violist Jeremy Berry, the quartet was founded in 2010 at the Colburn School in Los Angeles.
Recipients of an Avery Fisher Career Grant and the Lincoln Center Emerging Artist Award, the Calidore String Quartet first made international headlines as the $100,000 Grand Prize-winning ensemble at the 2016 M-Prize International Chamber Music Competition.
A graduate of the Juilliard School, Henry received his Doctorate of Musical Arts from the Yale School of Music under the guidance of Boris Berman. He is a former top prize winner at the Montreal and Queen Elisabeth International Piano Competitions, and he too is a recipient of an Avery Fisher Career Grant.
The Calidore Quartet will also perform a second faculty recital from the University of Delaware School of Music on October 20th, featuring quartets by Puccini, Brahms, Webern, and Shostakovich — which will also be streamed LIVE here on The Violin Channel. Join us.
