VC YOUNG ARTIST | Suyeon Kang, 26 - 2015 Michael Hill International Violin Competition 1st Prize

26 year old South-Korean-born Australian violinist, VC 'Young Artist' Suyeon Kang is firmly establishing herself as one of the new rising stars of the international concert stage.

A Konzertexamen student of Professor Antje Weithaas, at the Hochschule fūr Musik 'Hanns Eisler' Berlin, Suyeon is a former prizewinner of the Indianapolis, Menuhin, Buenos Aires and Bayreuth International Violin Competitions -  and was recently awarded 1st and the Audience prize at the 2015 Michael Hill International Violin Competition, in New Zealand.

A passionate chamber musician, she is a founding member of the Boccherini Trio - the official ensemble of the European Chamber Music Academy.

Recent collaborators include Lukas Hagen, Clemens Hagen, Hannah Weinmeister, Daniel Gaede, Christian Tetzlaff and Stephen Isserlis.

Suyeon's first CD, under the Atos Label will be produced in 2016 - featuring works by Bloch and Bartok.
