Violinist Itzhak Perlman Cancels Florida Tour
Itzhak Perlman has withdrawn from a 4-date concert tour in Florida this week - after undergoing an unplanned medical procedure
It has been announced that violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman has withdrawn from a 4-date concert tour in Florida this week - after undergoing an unplanned medical procedure.
“Mr Perlman regretfully had to cancel his appearances in Florida this week due to an unscheduled medical procedure …” his manager, Charlotte Lee, President and Founder of Primo Artists, has told The Violin Channel.
“He is doing well and plans to attend the theatrical release of the new film ‘Itzhak’ next week … he sends his thanks for everyone’s well-wishes,” she has said.
Mr Perlman was unable to join the 13-member ‘In the Fiddler’s House’ ensemble for Saturday evening’s Klezmer performance at the Festival of the Arts BOCA.
His recitals in Miami on the 25th of February and West Palm Beach on the 26th of February with Pinchas Zukerman and Rohan De Silva have both been cancelled, along with a recital with De Silva in Fort Meyers on the 27th of February.
Plans are in discussions, his management has indicated, to reschedule Mr Perlman's appearances in these cities during the 2018/2019 season.
We wish Mr Perlman a speedy recovery.
