Violinist Maria Ioudenitch Joins Opus 3 Artists
At Opus 3, Maria Ioudenitch now joins a select roster of musicians including Leonidas Kavakos, Kyung-Wha Chung, Sarah Chang, Isabelle Faust, Pamela Frank, Gil Shaham, and Cho-Liang Lin, among others.
Born in Balashov, Russia, Ioudenitch moved with her family to Kansas City, Missouri, USA, when she was three years old. She completed her Bachelor’s at the Curtis Institute of Music and her Master’s at New England Conservatory. Currently, she is wrapping up her studies as an Artist Diploma candidate at NEC with Miriam Fried.
As of 2021, Ioudenitch won several first prizes in major competitions, including the Ysaÿe International Music Competition, Tibor Varga International Violin Competition, and Joachim International Competition. As part of the latter's prize – Joachim’s Warner Classics prize – she will record and release her debut album in summer 2022.
Besides classical music, Ioudenitch enjoys Jazz and visual art. Some of her favorite composers and artists include Robert Schumann, Jazz composer Oscar Peterson, and Surrealist artist Remedíos Varo.
On the same day, Opus 3 also announced the signing of VC Young Artist cellist Gabriel Martins.
