It has been announced today that American violinist, Anne Akiko Meyers has badly broken her right foot - and will perform in a plaster cast for the next 6-8 weeks.

Youtube footage filmed on Friday evening at the Kennedy Center, in Washington has shown the happy-go-lucky soloist was brought on stage in a wheel chair to perform the Mason Bates Violin Concerto - with the National Symphony Orchestra.

"Travel, recordings, and concerts will be a little more challenging over the next few weeks, but I am so grateful nothing happened to my hands and wrists,” Anne Akiko has told The Violin Channel.
