AUDITION | The Hallé Orchestra — Tutti First Violin and Tutti Second Violin

Applications for the Manchester-based ensemble are due on August 19, 2022

The Hallé Orchestra, which is based in Manchester, UK, is holding auditions for one Tutti First Violin position and one Tutti Second Violin position. The successful applicant for the First Violin position will generally sit at no. 6 in the section and the Second Violin will sit at no. 4.

Founded by Sir Charles Hallé in Manchester, the orchestra gave its first concert in 1858, and is currently directed by Sir Mark Elder. The orchestra stages around 70 concerts per year at The Bridgewater Hall, its Manchester home, as well as giving approximately 40 concerts in other parts of the UK.

Both the open positions offer a salary of £32,435 per annum, and the Hallé will also insure the instrument of the successful applicant.

Applications should be sent to Assistant Orchestra Manager Jenni Espin by 12pm on Friday August 19, 2022. The auditions will take place on September 26, 29, and 30 at Hallé St Peter’s, Manchester M4 6BF.
