The Boston Symphony has announced the launch of a new 3-concert ‘casual’ series, where patrons will be invited to pre and post-concert drinks, encouraged to wear casual clothing, presented with discounted tickets - and encouraged to surf iPads during the performance.
The pre-loaded tablets, to be provided to patrons in a designated area of the hall, will contain in-depth information about the conductors and soloists, a scrollable score of the music being performed - plus informative and interactive notes about the programme.
The ‘Casual Friday’ concert programmes will feature conductors Andris Nelsons and Stephane Deneve, violinist Gil Shaham and English hornist Robert Sheena.
