Veteran Cleveland Orchestra Assistant Concertmaster to Call It a Day
‘I can’t do too much anymore … physically, it’s enough for me,’ Ms Moore has said
The Cleveland Orchestra had today announced Assistant Concertmaster, Yoko Moore will step down from the orchestra at the conclusion of the current season - after 34 years in the position.
‘I can’t do too much anymore … physically, it’s enough for me,’ she has told local media.
"I am so fortunate to have had Yoko by my side for 21 years … she has been the perfect stand partner … and I will miss her,” Concertmaster William Preucil has said.
Ms Moore has indicated she will spend her retirement attending concerts, performing and coaching the local youth orchestra, spending time with her granddaughter - and continuing her quest to read every famous book.
“Some people stop the violin in retirement - not me,” she has said.
