No 1st Prize Awarded at Lipizer International Violin Competition, Italy
No 1st prize has been awarded today at the 2014 33rd ‘Premio Rodolfo Lipizer’ International Violin Competition, in Gorizia, Italy – with the competition’s top prize, 2nd place awarded to Ryota Kuratomi, from Japan.
Michiru Matsuyama, from Japan was awarded 3rd prize – with 4th prize presented to Meruert Karmenova, from Kazakistan.
5th Prize was awarded to Emily Sun, from Australia – and 6th prize to So Jin Kim, from South Korea.
Russian violinist, Victoria Margasyuk withdrew from the Final Round - due to a damaged bow incident.
The special prize for the 'Best Performance of a Rodolfo Lipizer Caprice' was awarded to Megumi Okaya, from Japan.
The special prize for the 'Best Interpretation of a Mozart Concerto' was awarded to Meruert Karmenova, from Kazakhstan.
The special prize for the 'Best Semifinalist not Permitted to the Final Round' was awarded to Megumi Okaya, from Japan.
The special prize for the 'Best Interpretation of the Set Work “Lipizeriana for Violin and Piano" by Charles Pedini' was awarded to Tianren Xie, from China.
The special prize for the 'Semi-Finalist Possessing the Strongest Artistic Temperament' was awarded to Luka Ljubas, from Austria.
The special prize for the 'Youngest Finalist' was presented to Meruert Karmenova, from Kazakhstan.
The special prize for the 'Best Performance of a Sonata' was awarded to Victoria Margasyuk, from Russia.
The special prize for the 'Best Semi-finalist - As Voted by the Public' was awarded to Ryota Kuratomi, from Japan.
The special prize for the 'Finalist Who Most Successfully Communicated with the Orchestra' was presented to Ryota Kuratomi, from Japan.
