Ancalagon Records has this month announced the release of violinist Lara St John and pianist Matt Herskowitz's new album: 'The Key of A'.

The disc features Beethoven's Violin Sonata No. 9 'Kreutzer' in A Major, Franck's Sonata in A Major for Violin and Piano - and Fritz Kreisler's 'Schön Rosmarin'.

''Both of these sonatas are written for violinists by keyboard players and I paired them in an album because they are both, arguably, the zenith of works for violin and piano ... (also, they're both in A, thus the title) ..." Lara has this week told The Violin Channel.

''We hope they'll enjoy the ride ... Matt and I are both musical extremists, and I wish for listeners to get as carried away in the flow and the fury and the power of these pieces as we do!'' she has said.
