Prizes Awarded at Berlin’s 2018 Anton Rubinstein International Cello Comp
Grace Sohn and Kristina Vocetková have been awarded joint 1st prize at the 2018 Anton Rubinstein International Cello Competition
18-year-old South Korean-Canadian cellist Grace Sohn and 25-year-old Czech cellist Kristina Vocetková have been awarded joint 1st prize at the 2018 Anton Rubinstein International Cello Competition, in Berlin, Germany.
A current student of Troels Svane at the Hanns Eisler Hochschule für Musik Berlin, Grace will receive a one-year loan of a Victor Thomassin cello bow.
A current student of Csaba Onczay at the Liszt Ferenc Academy, Kristina will receive €750.
Joint 2nd prizes were awarded to 27-year-old South Korean cellist Yoosin Park and 23-year-old Israeli cellist Haran Meltzer.
Joint 3rd prizes were awarded to 27-year-old British cellist Ariana Kashefi and 27-year-old South Korean cellist Yoonhye Chung.
4th, 5th and 6th prizes were awarded to Joshua Petersen from Germany, Anton Spronk from the Netherlands and Beata Antikainen from Finland.
The 2018 jury comprised: Lisa Franken, Konstantin Manaev and Michael Blatow.
