Sexual Misconduct Allegations Leveled Against University of Michigan Violin Professor
The Michigan Daily has raised allegations of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct against University of Michigan School of Music Violin Professor Stephen Shipps
The Michigan Daily campus newspapers has this week raised allegations of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct against University of Michigan School of Music Violin Professor Stephen Shipps - with some alleged incidences spanning back almost 40 years.
The accusations include reports, by numerous female students, of alleged unwelcome touching, sexual assault - and of maintaining prolonged sexual relations with teenage students.
Shipps, 65, has served a teaching position at the University since September 1989 - and currently serves as the School of Music's Chair of Strings and as Faculty Director of the Strings Preparatory Academy pre-college program.
No charges have been brought against Mr Shipps.
Presumptions of innocence apply.
