Today is VC Artist Nikita Boriso-Glebsky’s 38th birthday!

A graduate of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth, Nikita is a former prize winner at the Tchaikovsky, Joseph Joachim, David Oistrakh, Montreal, Fritz Kreisler, Queen Elisabeth and Jean Sibelius International Violin Competitions.

• In middle school, he studied how to drive tractors and was therefore able to work on them in a field as a tractor operator.
• At a violin competition, the organizers thought that “Nikita” was a female name (as it is in France and Belgium), so they arranged for his lodgings at a nunnery! He had an unforgettable experience living there for a week!
• He once got pranked by the security officers at an airport. When he put his violin through the X-Ray machine, a picture of a saxophone came up instead of his violin. The guards had saved the picture from a previous passenger and thought it would be a laugh!
