Today is Bolivian-American violinist, pedagogue and conductor Jaime Laredo's 79th birthday!

A student of Josef Gingold and Ivan Galamian, Mr Laredo is a former 1st prize winner at the Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competition.

He has served prestigious teaching positions at the Curtis Institute of Music, Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music.
