Violinist Philippe Quint Joins Wittenberg Artists for General Management

Philippe Quint will join violinists Gidon Kremer and VC Artist Stella Chen on Wittenberg's roster, alongside other artists like conductor/composer Eric Whitacre, cellist Steven Isserlis, and flautist Ana de la Vega.

“I am delighted to join the family of Wittenberg Artists," Quint said. "I have had the pleasure of briefly collaborating with Martin Wittenberg through the waning days of Columbia Artists. I believe this re-established collaboration, with Martin’s dedication to a very select group of artists, will prove to be an ideal partnership in fostering many of my musical dreams and projects.”

A multi GRAMMY-nominated artist, Philippe Quint's discography comprises 18 award-winning releases. Most recently, he made his debut on the Warner Classics label with an album titled "Chaplin’s Smile," a compilation of 13 original arrangements of songs by Charlie Chaplin.

As a soloist, Quint has appeared internationally, with orchestras such as the London Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Bournemouth Symphony, among others. He has also made frequent guest appearances at festivals including Verbier, Aspen, Colmar, Hollywood Bowl, and Dresden Festspiele.

A graduate of the Juilliard School, where he studied with Dorthy DeLay, he plays on the 1708 "Ruby" Antonio Stradivari violin on loan to him through the generous efforts of The Stradivari Society.

“It speaks volumes about the musical and human qualities of an artist when they are as fondly spoken of by as many conductors and artistic collaborators as Philippe is," Martin Wittenberg said. "He has built and maintained an impressive musical career over the last 25 years that rests as much on his many musical friendships as it does on his artistic qualities and sheer endless creativity and curiosity. In these days, where making happy announcements seems somewhat out of place in any context, it feels meaningful to welcome an artist who values honest human connection as much as I do. For this reason alone Philippe is a perfect fit for Wittenberg Artists."

Philippe Quint was one of the many renowned artists to be featured in the inaugural season of The Violin Channel's Vanguard Concerts.
