The 26 opening round candidates have been announced for the 2018 Paulo International Cello Competition
The 26 opening round candidates have been announced for the 2018 Paulo International Cello Competition – to be held from the 14th to the 25th of October, 2018 in Helsinki, Finland.
The 2018 candidates are:

Open to cellists of any nationality born between 1988 and 2002, the 1st prize winner will receive €20,000.
The 2018 jury will comprise: Arto Noras, Frans Helmerson, Maria Kliegel, Laurence Lesser, Ivan Monighetti, Philippe Muller, Li-Wei Qin, Martti Rousi and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi.
Former major prize winners include Nicolas Altstaedt, Xavier Phillips, Hai-Ye Ni, Enrico Bronzi, Andreas Brantelid – and VC Artists Kian Soltani, Pablo Ferrández and Aurélien Pascal.
