20-year-old American cellist Zlatomir Fung is quickly building an international reputation as one of the outstanding young string soloists of his generation

20-year-old American cellist Zlatomir Fung is quickly building an international reputation as one of the outstanding young string soloists of his generation – praised for his virtuosity, maturity and profound musicality.

A student of Richard Aaron and Timothy Eddy at The Juilliard School, Zlatomir is a former 1st prize winner at the Johansen, Stulberg, Irving Klein, Schoenfeld and Enescu International Music Competitions, Astral Artists National Auditions and Young Concert Artists International Auditions - and was recently awarded 1st prize at the 2019 Tchaikovsky International Cello Competition.

His recent performances include solo engagements with the New England Philharmonic, George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra, the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Santa Cruz Symphony, Lausanne Sinfonietta, the Grand Rapids Symphony and Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra.

His upcoming engagements include concerto performances with the Seattle Symphony, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra and the Dresden and Aspen Music Festivals - and solo recitals at New York's Morgan Library and the 2020 Piatigorsky International Cello Festival.

Zlatomir is under worldwide management with Kirshbaum Associates, in New York - and and has regional representation with Intermusica, Kajimoto and Classical Artists Boutique.
