VC Young Artist William Hagen Awarded Use of 1735 ‘Sennhauser’ del Gesu

It has been announced today that 24 year old American VC Young Artist William Hagen has been granted the long term use of the 1735 ‘Sennhauser’ Guarneri del Gesu

It has been announced today that 24 year old American VC Young Artist William Hagen has been granted the long term use of the 1735 ‘Sennhauser’ Guarneri del Gesù – on loan from a private patron of the Stradivari Society of Chicago.

A student of Christian Tetzlaff at the Kronberg Academy, William is a former major prize winner at the Kreisler and Queen Elisabeth International Violin Competitions.

“I am absolutely thrilled!” William has told The Violin Channel.

“This violin is so beautiful and I have been wanting to play on an instrument like this for as long as I can remember … ” he has said.

“I am so grateful to the Stradivari Society and honored to be given the use of this incredible piece of history.”

In recent years the instrument has been played by Leila Josefowicz, Sarah Chang, Yoon Kyung Kwon and Mayuko Kamio.

The Stradivari Society last week announced that 17 year old American violinist Joshua Brown has been granted the long term use of a 1679 Pietro Guarneri violin.

The Society also currently supports VC Artists Paul Huang, Augustin Hadelich, Francisco Fullana and Stephen Waarts.
