Andre Rieu Surpasses One Direction in UK Cinema Box-Office Takings

Violinist Andre Rieu has set a new record for the box-office takings of a live music-concert in UK cinemas – surpassing mega pop groups One Direction and Take That.

It has been reported this week, by the official Charles Gant box office report, that the Dutch violinist's newest summer concert, streamed live from his home town of Maastricht, accrued takings of £1.1M (US $1.7 Million) from 460 cinemas across Britain and Ireland - in one single night.
