Today is Dutch violinist, conductor and composer André Rieu's 75th birthday!

Rieu's father was the conductor of the Maastricht Symphony Orchestra. Demonstrating early talent, André started studying the violin at just five years old.

A graduate of the Conservatoire Royal in Liège, Music Academy in Brussels and the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, he has reached international fame as the founder and orchestral leader of the Johann Strauss Orchestra.

Mr Rieu speaks six languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
